Supermarket chiller pipework

CH Systems carried out a repipe on two Aermec Chillers at a national supermarket’s online warehouse. The project included remaking both the flow and return pipework in Class “C” ABS, which turned out to be pretty challenging as it was a sunny day and this dramatically accelerated the drying time of the glue. However, with some good planning and scheduling of the work, we managed to complete on time and were able to hand over a leak free installation.

Mill Farm Hounslow

CH Systems has been on site for eight weeks, working on a new build project in Hounslow. We’re currently at 70 per cent completion but thought it a good time to log our progress, and give a shout out to the quality materials that are making this a trouble-free installation:

The development comprises of 24 timber frame flats and houses, each incorporating a NuAire MVHR, providing both fresh air and extraction, as well as Worcester boilers, providing both heating and hot water. All the pipework for the heating and domestic services has been installed in Uponor PEx and all the soil and waste pipework has been installed in Geberit HDPE.

Using materials we trust, through experience, ensures the longevity that we require on the systems we produce. The team is looking forward to the end of yet another successful job.

Covent Garden Boutique Hotel

CH Systems is pleased to announce the completion the ‘mechanical and equipment design’ on an 18-room boutique hotel in Covent Garden, London.

The materials we used on the project, included: a Daikin VRV air conditioning system – providing comfort and cooling; a DutyPoint cold water booster pump and tank; Daikin Hydro box – providing the domestic hot water; and a custom designed and modelled smoke shaft achieving all the necessary approvals (provision of specification, coordinated drawings, ongoing consultancy and distribution board schedules).

Our team made sure to complete all work whilst maintaining a high level of safety on site and ensuring that our client experienced as little inconvenience as possible.

Domestic re-pipe

To complete a system refurbishment at a domestic property in Tonbridge, the team at CH Systems undertook the task of removing two Daikin hydro boxes as well as the condensers in order to carry out a successful re-pipe.  Take a look at the pics below, which give some idea of the intricacy of the system:

Marlborough Gate Café, Hyde Park

Marlborough Gate Café is a new catering facility in Kensington Gardens between Queen Anne’s Alcove and Marlborough Gate, overlooking the Italian Gardens. This is such an exciting new addition to Hyde Park and CH Systems is proud to have been contracted to take care of all the mechanical works on this project.

All work was carried out successfully and we look forward to seeing our work being enjoyed by many.

Gas Purge Gatwick South Terminal

CH Systems was commissioned to purge the gas main that previously served the McDonald’s restaurant in the South Terminal at Gatwick Airport. The gas pipe ran about 30m in length and upon completion of the work, we were able to issue the necessary certification of safety.

Hastings Pier

The team at CH Systems is proud to have contributed to the restoration work done on the Hastings Pier, which has now opened to the public.

The pier is a grade II listed Victorian landmark that was originally built in 1872 and was severely damaged by fire in 2010. We were commissioned to ‘fit out’ the visitor’s centre and all the Below Deck Services at Hastings Pier, which included the installation of an Air Source Heat Pump to provide the heating and hot water within the visitor’s centre.

The project was completed successfully by our team while making sure to take caution at all times.

You can find out more information on the pier by visiting their website on hastingspier.org.uk

(We visited the site last week for a follow up inspection and we couldn’t help but take a few photographs of this beautiful space that is going to be visited by thousands of visitors every week.)

Harmann’s Orchard

The CH team was pleased to carry out a scheduled 12-month maintenance check on  a project that we completed last year. This particular project achieved near PassivHaus standard (leading international low energy, design standard) levels – of which we are extremely proud, especially because the work was tough.

The project posed many challenges for us as the mechanical installer, owing to logistical constraints and very low energy standards that made project planning onerous. In spite of the obstacles, the pro team at CH Systems installed: an LPG boiler, wet underfloor heating, solar thermals as well as MVHR and Zehnder radiators, with apparent success.

(We could not have chosen a better day to visit the dwelling in North Kent as the building, grounds and view were absolutely awe-inspiring. Take a look:)

Hitchin Gas Spheres

CH Systems carried out an atmospheric gas test in 3no Gas Spheres in Hitchin. Each of the spheres is 13 meters in diameter and were previously used to store LPG. They are due for demolition in the near future as they have not been used in over 8 years, and the contents needed to be checked prior to these being cut out. This was a visually interesting commission for our team and everything was completed safely.
